About Theresa
In 2006, I founded Theresa Kaufman Events with an eye to assisting companies, non-profits and private persons with event planning and production. Prior to 2006, my career experience encompassed a distinctive mix of special events, fundraising and public relations. During that time, I worked in managerial positions for non-profits (The Mel Blount Youth Home, Pittsburgh Opera, Laughlin Children’s Center) and media (Pittsburgh Magazine and Hearst Radio). Those jobs provided me with valuable insight for clients creating new events and assessing old ones. My non-profit work gave me ninja-like training in pulling off events with small budgets, pushing me to think creatively and problem-solve resourcefully. Working in public relations and promotion departments helped me develop a solid expertise in planning and executing special events with the public, clients and donors. As principal at Theresa Kaufman Events, I provide creative planning and detailed management for private social events, corporate and non-profit meetings, seminars, conferences and gala receptions. I take pride in helping clients stay on track with a budget, researching and vetting an ever-expanding network of event vendors and resources, and maintaining constant communication throughout the planning and execution of the event. A member of Meeting Planners International,
I am a past president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the International Live Events Society. In 2015, I co-founded Eventful Event Producers as a partner and principal planner.
